Five Big Updates From Native Instruments

Native Instruments has released MASCHINE+, KOMPLETE 13, GUITAR RIG 6 PRO, and CREMONA QUARTET, as well as a new workflow update to the MASCHINE 2 software.

Here’s what’s new in the updates:

MASCHINE 2.12

This update introduces the new Clips workflow. Clips lets producers arrange ideas in MASCHINE with more freedom, making it possible to create transitions across scenes, add unique variation to patterns, record MIDI directly into the full arrangement and freely add audio wherever required.

The update is available now and is free.

MASCHINE+

The release of MASCHINE 2.12 coincides with the launch of MASCHINE+, NI’s new flagship standalone production and performance instrument.

Here’s a quick look at the most frequently asked questions about MASCHINE+:

GUITAR RIG 6 PRO

GUITAR RIG 6 PRO is a major update to the amp and effects modelling platform. It introduces three new amplifiers, Chicago, Bass Invader, and Fire Breather.

The new amps are powered by Native’s ICM (Intelligent Circuit Modelling) – a machine-learning approach to modelling amp circuitry.

Here’s what’s new in Guitar Rig 6 Pro:

CREMONA QUARTET

Three new instruments join NI’s STRADIVARI VIOLIN to create CREMONA QUARTET: AMATI VIOLA, GUARNERI VIOLIN, and STRADIVARI CELLO.

Each instrument in the quartet was recorded by virtuoso performers in Cremona, Italy, which itself fell silent and rerouted traffic during the recording process.

KOMPLETE 13

Both CREMONA QUARTET and GUITAR RIG 6 PRO can be found in KOMPLETE 13 – the latest generation of Native’s flagship production suite.

New in Komplete 13: ARKHIS, MYSTERIA, PHARLIGHT, STRAYLIGHT, SUPER 8, SESSION GUITARIST – ELECTRIC SUNBURST DELUXE, and NOIRE.

Here’s a quick intro to what’s new in Komplete 13:

See the NI site for more information on each of the new releases.

  1. A lot of people were writing NI as a spent force, but this seems like a pretty good batch of release to me…keep it up NI! S88 MK3 with drum pads please!

  2. Maschine update with direct midi recording, but still no aftertouch? Or did they finally solve this very, very, very long standing user request?

  3. im a fan of NI software and fx, so this box seems pretty cool.. especially once they finish the plugin UI

but the DRM stuff is always bullshit so thats something to consider for me

  4. It is a bit sad that pricing never reflects what you may have already purchased inbetween these major releases. In this case, it was a very long period between 12 and 13, which made a lot of people purchase plugins separately which are now included in the package.
There is really not much sense in upgrading when you already own Noire, Sunburst, Session Guitarist etc. Feels a bit like paying twice for them.

  5. Just thought about this, with al the NI license transfer nonsense, if you ever wanted to sell this and get the maschine+ MK2 (cause you know its coming for ultra-sure), you have to deal with NI just to sell your gear. Maybe license transfers are easier now, maybe even automated but NI are the gatekeepers to your purchases, even the hardware ones.
