Spectrasonics Trilian 1.5 Available Now As A Free Update

Spectrasonics has released an update to Trilian, their ‘total bass’ software synthesizer.

Trilian v1.5 features over 200 new patches and dozens of new features, including major enhancements to Trilian’s Arpeggiator, dramatically expanded synthesis options and an updated interface. The update also includes a new “Trilian Creative” library for Omnisphere users.

Here’s what’s new in Trilian v1.5:

  • Arpeggiator Update – Trilian’s Arpeggiator has received a major update in v1.5, with new Pattern Modes, Step Dividers, Pitch Slides and the ability to have altered Chord Voicings and Chord Inversions per step. Also included is an Arpeggiator Preset Library that showcases its creative possibilities. Trilian 1.5 can now also capture the MIDI data of the arpeggiator as a standard MIDI file, which can be dragged to your DAW for further editing.
  • Expanded Synthesis Features – Trilian 1.5 adds new Filter Types, Enhanced FM, Ring Modulation, Doubled Harmonia Voices and Polyphonic Waveshaping. Full FX Modulation, double the amount of Mod Matrix slots and new modulation sources have also been added, for more sonic control.
  • New Sounds – Trilian 1.5 features an expanded sound library with over 200 new patches, created by Eric Persing and the Spectrasonics Sound Development team. The 1.5 update also includes the new “Trilian Creative” library, a collection of Omnisphere patches designed for users who also have Trilian. The new library features a variety of patches designed to showcase the power of combining Trilian and Omnisphere 2. Trilian’s detailed bass sounds can be creatively transformed using Omnisphere’s deep synthesis options.
  • Other updates – Trilian 1.5 also features a new Hi-res Resizable User Interface, a new Mini-Browser and new Full Browser, production/browsing features like Sound Match to help you locate any related sounds in the library and Sound Lock, which lets you create useful patch variations by locking sound aspects while browsing other patches.

  1. I was busting a gut watching and listening to those two. Greg Phillinganes is a real musical and comic talent. That has got to be one of the best software promo videos I have ever seen. Well done, well done.
