Akai Pro Drumsynth – Better Than The Rhythm Wolf?

In his latest loopop video, host Ziv Eliraz takes an in-depth look at Drumsynth, a drum synthesizer plugin.

At the core of DrumSynth is a multi-synth sound generator that features FM synthesis, analog modeling synthesis and physical modeling synthesis algorithms to power 8 individual sound engines; Kick, Snare, Clap, Hi-Hat, Tom, Percussion, Crash and Ride.

As always, Eliraz’s loopop video takes a deep dive into Drumsynth. Check it out and share your thoughts on Drumsynth in the comments!

Drumsynth is available for the Force, MPC Live, MPC Live II, MPC One, MPC X & MPC software.

  1. Beatboxing with a mouth full of pudding is better than the Rhythm Wolf and the Tom Cat. Pudding mouth could do triplets!

  2. came here to defend the Rhythm Wolf. Kinda surprised I feel strongly enough to make this post, but yeah. I used it live and as a central percussive voice in a duo setup for over a year, and I actually really liked it. It was limited (obvs), and the clock was BS, but it had it’s own character that I actually really liked, especially through pedals. It’s a cheap drum machine that acts like a cheap drum machine. How can you hate on it for being what it is?

  3. Drumsynth is a great free gift to its users. Compliments the existing synths in the MPCs and the Force to make them full-on synth grooveboxes (as well as all the other stuff they do).
