In his latest loopop video, host Ziv Eliraz takes an in-depth look into the UDO Audio Super 6 synthesizer.
The Super 6 is a 12-voice polyphonic, Binaural Analog-Hybrid Synthesizer. It features FPGA wavetable oscillators, paired with an analog signal patch.
In Binaural mode, each left/right channel has a complete synthesizer voice. You can detune (and de-phase) the left and right oscillators, amplitude and filter (and indeed other parameters) relative to each-other. The effect is subtle to extreme stereo movement and an improved sense of 3D positioning relative to conventional mono signal-chains panned at the output.

Yeah yeah enough already with this synth i want but can’t buy because its to big to place in my home 🙁

If you have digital oscillators, why stop at two? And why no screen? Why no reverb? Some odd choices.
reverb maybe, but not interested in having a screen. its a synth that demands and gives a tactile experience imo. it just didn’t seem wanted nor needed.
It’s almost the same price as an Iridium, which is much more flexible and has just as many tactile controls. Shrug, if it was all analog I could see why someone people would want an updated Jupiter 6, but it’s not.
An Iridium (or the more expensive Quantum) would be my choice over this too. Or if I wanted modern analog, I’d get a PolyBrute and not a hybrid analog.
Ok, and me, I’d buy Super 6 🙂 you dont need to compare it with the Iridium…
Why wouldn’t you compare it to what else is available? All of these are limited products, so if you’re excited, go crazy.
But why compare it to something that sounds completely different? I haven’t heard anything yet that comes close to the Super 6. Maybe that’s why so many dislike it. Not me though I think the Super 6 is awesome, but I also think most demos are terrible. The super 6 is the in your face synth and should be tamed a lot while using it.
Iridium doesn’t have a keyboard…
a) binaural osc are different from normal osc for having spatial changing acustic field
b) they already have superimposed waves as a setting, like Roland like super saw
