Karanyi Sounds has introduced Wavesynth, a powerful waveshaper instrument for Kontakt 6.

Wavesynth features over 220 factory and artist presets, with sounds from 12 classic synthesizers. These include the Roland Juno 106, JX and 8P, Moog Voyager, E-mu Emulator, Korg M1, Moog Sub37, Sequential Prophet 6 and 8, Oberheim OB-X, Korg MS-20, and Casio CZ.

  1. Its a nice-sounding instrument, but its not earth-shattering in a field of so many like it. Its also a dubious buy, with NI having just been partnered with another company. The idea of support may or may not become vaporware.

    I know the difference, but it still strikes me a bit odd that Behringer gets nuked regularly for its partially altered vintage clone-ettes while synths like this list numerous major models as their wave sources. Roland locked up the D-50 as proprietary, but otherwise, a sawtooth wave is still a sawtooth wave. OK, not always 100%, but still…
