New Lisa Bella Donna Album, Moogmentum, Dedicated To The Life & Work Of Robert A. Moog

Behind The Sky, an electronic music label founded by Evan Bartholomew (Bluetech), has released Moogmentum by Lisa Bella Donna.

The album is released in partnership with, and as a fundraiser for, The Bob Moog Foundation, as part of the organization’s 15th anniversary. The Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that’s dedicated to preserving the legacy of Bob Moog, and using sound and synthesis to inspire a new generation of innovators.

“This record is a very special dedication to the life & work of Robert A. Moog,” notes Bella Donna. “I wanted to tell a story coming from a musician who never had the privilege and pleasure to meet and speak with Bob personally. Rather, a story from someone who started on Moog synthesizers very young, about all of the doors it opened in my music and the way I looked at sound afterward.”

“To be invited to collaborate on this record with The Bob Moog Foundation is a thing of miracles. It’s also another beautiful way to celebrate the opening of the Moogseum, something I was so grateful to be a part of 2 years ago. I am hopeful that this record moves the listener through a series of chapters that gets them in touch with how they first discovered Moog synthesizers and the remarkable impact that they made.”

  1. Great album. Anyone know if there will be a vinyl release on this? I don’t see any mention of this at the label site, but know that they’ve done some great LPs previously.

    1. Maybe you should try reading the description first? It’s a FUNDRAISER for the Bob Moog Foundation. It’s not a Moog Music promo. Bobs daughter, Michelle is the heart of the BMF. Her opening of the event of the Moogseum was called “Moogmentum”, presented my Michelle Moog-Koussa herself, so I’m sure she picked Lisa for the project. We’ve already heard Bach on Moog. It’s great! However, what Lisa is doing is very creative and versatile. It’s a beautiful recording. I recommend you listen to it. It supports a good cause. You’d have to read what the record is about tho…
