August 22nd Live Event To Explore Synced Modular Synth Performance

The Colorado Modular Synth Society is doing a live stream event on Sunday Aug 22, 2021 where performers will be collaborating to explore the possibilities of using shared clock signals with modular synthesizers.

Sync is a new event put on by the Society and will feature three pairs of artists performing using a shared clock source. The event starts at 2pm and is being live streamed. It can be viewed via the embed above, directly on Youtube or on the event site.

“Circuit Happy sent over some Missing Links, so there will be hybrid setups, including Buchla, Eurorack, and hardware synths,” notes CMSS’s David Soto. “Throughout the show, we will discuss tips and thoughts on how to sync performers for tandem performances.”

  1. Pittsburgh Modular’s Richard Nicol and Soy Sos have been doing this in their youtube livestreams for a while. Looks like a lot of fun.

  2. We’ve been doing this on and off for a few years in Toronto at the monthly modular events known as “Frequency Freaks”…it’s a really great and fun way of collaboration.
