Loopman Eurorack Brings Cassette Tape Looping To Eurorack Modular Synthesizers

At Superbooth 2021, Error Instruments has introduced the Loopman Eurorack, an experimental cassette tape recorder in Eurorack format.

It can record and playback sounds, on standard cassette tapes or tape loops, from audio inputs and from the built-in AM/FM radio.

In addition, it has a built-in low-pass gate, so you can filter sounds or even create percussive sound. You can also control the speed of the tape manually or via control voltage.

You can also just use it to play cassette tapes.

“Loop means walk in Dutch. But it means in English a coming back of the sounds,” they note.

Pricing and Availability

The Loopman Eurorack is available now for € 285,12 (+ VAT where applicable).

    1. Complaining about the Dutch to English? You say they need a translator, I say there is still some charm in words when lost in translation between languages, and that is actually part of the joy that can be found in music… YMMV.

  1. Very cool and interesting: The ability to automatically scan the radio (e.g. hit a ‘next’ button) would be a nice additional feature.
