Novation Peak, Summit Get Free Major Update

Novation today announced major firmware updates for its Summit and Peak synthesizers.

Firmware v2.0 adds a variety of features that expand your synthesis options, including stereo controls, modulation, unpredictability and effects.

Here’s what’s new in Summit & Peak Firmware 2.0:

  • Stereo – New spread modes, panning per voice, and panning in the mod matrix give additional control and allows for sound design in the stereo field. Now you can create bigger, wider, and more intricately textured soundscapes.
  • Modulation and unpredictability – Create deeper and more experimental sounds with new mod destinations, noise as a mod source, and additional LFO 3 and 4 parameters. Animate Envelopes and Arpeggiator Chance open more creative performance possibilities.
  • Effects – New effects, including Chorus Modes, Flanger, and Phlanger add new tonalities. Additional effects modulation destinations open up more experimental sound design. A new Lo-Fi delay mode enables a more vintage style sound.
  • Bug Fixes – The firmware update v2.0 also includes a number of bug fixes. The full details can be found in the release notes.

Novation will also be hosting a live stream today (Thursday March 31st, 2022, 9pm UK time), embedded below, where the new v2.0 update features will be demonstrated live:

Summit & Peak owners can download the v2.0 update now from Novation Components. See the Novation site for details.

    1. Yesss! ‘Getting exited running arround naked through the livingroom’

      Kidding :p

I hope it fixes also the midi problems some people mention.

  1. fantastic, i agree, Peak is an often overlooked modern classic. this update is huge for the voise panning and noise as a mod source, thanks Novation!

  2. Notation has a great track record for updating their gear. I was amazed at the updates my Bass Station and Circuit received. I’m very interested in the Summit as my next major purchase.

  3. Back when I was on the market for a workstation module, the Peak was on my list, but I scrapped it due to it not having an input. The Summit has stereo input, but I don’t want such large devices, because my sets are mobile. Anyone else got inputs as sort of a must-have for synths? At the moment only my OB6 lacks it, but having obtained such a module for a good price, I don’t mind it too much.

      1. The A6 has stereo inputs routed to voice 15+16, and a mono input routed to ALL voices. Next level filtering: mono signal through all 16 voices at the same time. Bandpass, keytrack on. Play big chords. Melt face.

    1. i have Peak and was going to buy Summit only for the inputs because the pre-filter drive > filter > post-filter drive are that amazing i would love to run everything through them. but then i discovered that even though there is a stereo input, it sums it to mono through the filter section because each synth voice is mono. i also contacted Novation and asked if they are planning on a Summit in the Peak form factor and they said not in the foreseeable future, it would be fantastic the have Summit in the size of Peak though.
