How To Use The Moog Etherware Theremin To Control Your Modular Synthesizer

In this video, PatchwerksMatthew Piecora (aka EZBOT) takes a look at using the new Moog Etherwave Theremin with a Eurorack modular synth rig.

The new Etherwave is a updated version of Bob Moog’s classic design. It adds CV output (Gate Out, Pitch Out, Vol. Out) for connecting with other modular, Eurorack, and CV-controlled instruments.

  1. The Boss SY 1 and the EHX Talking Machine are all you need. And pitch to CV/MIDI options will do the same. Also the EHX Mel9 if you want the orchestral stuff.

If you play the theremin your hands should be occupied with the ether and waving not KNOBS and SWITCHES.

I connected the Model 302 Theremin to an ARP Odyssey Module using the UniSyn, sure its amazing but the hands are the important part instead of the additional harmonics, sweeps and filtering OK, the ADSR being triggered by the clock may have its uses for synth pop, but after ten or twenty years you should be able to do that with your hands,

The wavetable cello on the Claravox is spiffy enough. I cannot imagine that on a modular synth set up.
