  1. I’ve attempted to complain to Arturia about their upgrade pricing to no avail. They stated how much development time costs and I thought “Don’t alienate your current users, reach out and get new ones”

    1. Just wait for the Black Friday sales, etc. I’m pretty sure Arturia has more experience in pricing products effectively in their market than you do.

      1. Arturia’s goal is to price products for maximum profit. My goal is to pay as little as possible. You see the conflict?

  2. That’s a whole lotta fun in one package for a decent price, if you pro-rate part of it over time. It mostly depends on how much you’re willing to center your rig on the “Arturia sound.” I prefer to mix & match plug-ins for their own character.

I also need a Buchla like I need a third eye on a stalk. I like Pigments, for example, but I have zero need for their take on electric pianos. Do your own cost-benefit analysis, but you may find that buying 3 or 4 of their instruments as singles could round out your idea of a complete rig. Their pricing gets a bit weird like Native Instruments, but hey, that’s Synth World.

  3. Mastering a single synth can be alot better and more rewarding than owning a bunch. I’ve been really diving into Phase plant and goign deep into what it has to offer. Before it was Pigments, then I realized I just kept buying soft synths and using them for a little bit then getting another cause its not as expensive as a hardware synth. So now its just Phase Plant, Polybrute and all the synths that come with Bitwig. Been a lot more productive and now I make all my drums in phase Plant and get some crazy modulation on the polybrute. Less is more, took years to learn that.

  4. agree with Handsome Randy over here… it’s good advice…. however..
anyways – I got the update.. and I must say that even if I think it’s a tad over the top priced update (some of the new stuff is totally uninteresting – especially the Augmented strings/voices.. and the MS20 (we already got Korg’s own plugin – and it’s still as good as it used to be) – however the new CS80V is ace.. wow!! Arturia is getting closer on that one. So – all in all – I am happy.

  5. No new hardware from Arturia? I guess the situation really hurt the mass produce brands more than the boutique ones
