Free Virtual Instrument Recreates The Sound Of The Rare Ondioline

Spitfire Audio has released Electronic Antique – a free virtual instrument that recreates the sound of the rare Ondioline.

Here’s what they have to say about it:

“Discover a rare gem of music history with one of the world’s earliest synthesisers — the Ondioline. Designed and patented by French inventor Georges Jenny in the early 1940s, the LABS team captured its delightfully off-kilter sound, transforming the raw recordings into a range of playful presets. Fizzing with smile-inducing possibilities — the Ondioline is as wild as your imagination.”

Electronic Antique is available now as a free download.

  1. I have a couple of very hypnotic, freeze-dried Martenot samples, so this will be a must-have for me. It’ll be nice to play a more active form of Jenny’s instruments. Its like a Theremin that’s loosely locked into a keyboard, so you can get the goodie without it sounding seasick.
