Hampshire Electronics Vulcan 8-Voice Analog Polysynth (Sneak Preview)

British Euro maker Hampshire Electronics shared this sneak preview for the Vulcan 8-voice Eurorack analog polyphonic synthesizer.

The Vulcan is a switchable, 4 or 8 voice poly synth in Eurorack format. It features 2 oscillators with independent sub basses and filters. It has two ADSRS, for VCA and LP Filter, and three LFOs assignable, to 10 different destinations.

You can also store your patches in one of the 99 preset slots.

While the Vulcan is a Eurorack module, it does not offer any CV/Gate control – it’s designed to be a synthesizer module that can be mounted in a Eurorack system to add polyphony in a compact format.

Pricing and Availability

Hampshire Electronics says that the Vulcan will be available to purchase very soon at a “very reasonable price”. Details are still to come at their site.

    1. Your hands don’t work? I can see a control, a control my hand can move. That will modulate the envelope times. 2envelopes and 3 LFOs too. Not bad

      1. I think that is the whole point of modular: to patch and modulate parameters with control voltages. Otherwise, you’ll need quite a few pairs of hands…. Can see no patch points on this

        1. I understand this and thanks for the relaxed reply! This isn’t a modular synth, it is more a synth in the euro rack format. The company does make regular patchable modules (good value too).

    1. Yes, I did the same. They have not invented the wheel, but if the price of the synthesizer is similar to that of the modules on their website, then even such a “boring” architecture can be interesting.

  1. this is exciting to me there are not many poly modules I can play multiple notes with all analog in this form factor I just wish that the right side of the panel had some mod patch points. I think the price raise would be worth it. im diggin it

  2. “Captain….. perhaps it is because I am Vulcan…. that I do not comprehend the logic, sir…. in creating a Eurorack module, that cannot be modulated with control voltages….”
