Leon Dewan Previews New Synth, The Modulo

Instrument designer Leon Dewan (Dewanotron) shared this sneak preview of a new synth, The Modulo.

“This is a rough prototype of the D1 Synthesis Modulo,” he notes, “a new analog synthesizer optimized for sonic exploration.”

Details on The Modulo are still to come at his site.

  1. Implying that other synthesizers get in the way of sonic exploration? I love sales talk. It’s so genuine and convincing. Really renews my faith in humanity. What was it the Dread Pirate Roberts said? “Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says different is selling something.”

    1. If you refer to the text, “optimized for sonic exploration” then it seems to be a you issue. It doesn’t say that it’s the only one nor the first one to be used for that. It simply says that it’s optimized for that.
Imagine a digital synth with only a few knobs and lots of menu diving. I’d say it’s less suited for “sonic exploration” than something with a knob per function design. Yet you can still use it for that.

  2. Silly design, albeit far less ridiculous than the new and hilarious Whimsical Raps offering. Demo sounds like an underwhelming PD patch to be honest

  3. This quite frankly might be the most dynamic analog synth to come down the pike since the oscar winning Swarmatron…still trying to get my hands on one. These are game changers for depth and originality.
