AudioKit Pro’s Super 606 is a drum machine for iPhone and iPad that uses a new drum synthesis engine, rather than sampled drum sounds.
Its workflow is inspired by classic 606-style drum programming and includes pattern recording from drum pads, accents and dull/ghost notes, ratchets, flams, variable gates, per-track last-step settings, and multiple rhythmic grid modes.
The app can import user-created MIDI patterns from Roland Cloud TR-606 workflows, including flams and substeps, and also provides MIDI controller support, AUv3 operation, Ableton Link, MIDI Clock synchronization, and internal clocking.
Features:
- Synth-generated drum sounds using a dedicated drum synthesis engine
- Open-source synthesis code for the XL kick, snare, analog toms, clap, and metallic hi-hats
- Drum-pad pattern recording
- Per-step normal, ghost/dull, and accent levels

Will it just die already

Pathetic…
“It was vandals.”
Awesome app! Love it!
The AudioKit Pro team is killing it. They’ve got something cool coming out every couple of months now, it seems.
I wish more of these developers would also build a MacOS version as well. I’d love to add this to my collection.
Ugh … these drum machine apps always remind of me of the rhythm machines that came attached to home organs back in the late ’60s. They even sound alike. We used to mock those things. And while these new apps have a lot more functionality, they still always sound like toys to me.
Can I ask how we chain patterns A through H?
Also can we copy between them?
I keep trying to press and press and hold A then press B but that doesn’t seem to do it, I looked at the site and it mentions chaining them but I don’t see a manual or any instruction, maybe I’m completely missing it though.
to loop through A->B—>H make sure there is a pattern in each slot, then in the upper right hand corner press the button that is either a right arrow, or an arrow in a loop, that controls whether it is looping through all of the patterns or sitting on particular pattern
to copy a pattern select it then press the button on the middle control panel 4 buttons to the left from the right hand side, it looks like 2 piece of paper upon each other, that means copy, pressing it will copy the currently selected pattern. now select the next empty pattern, and press the botton on the middle control panel 3 buttons to the left from the right hand side, it looks like a paper with an up arrow and a filled in paper behind it, that means paste, pressing it will paste the copied pattern into that slot.
soundwise it seems mostly fine but cymbal tuning sure is odd, its like a shepard tone where it goes up in pitch over and over never truly getting ultra high pitched, quite odd. I haven’t delved too much with the other sounds, i love 606s and have had several modded ones throughout the years as well as clones.
