Synthesist Justin Joe has created a free alternate firmware for the Teenage Engineering OP-1 synthesizer that gives it a new synth engine, effects and more.
It’s free, and builds on firmware 246, the last one Teenage Engineering released for the OG.
Features:
- A Keys synth engine (tine, reed and clav),
- Chord mode and scales
- Piano-roll sequencer that records chords
- Six new effects with their own screens
- A new LFO
- A knob-click Shift latch
- MIDI CC on almost every knob.

I sold my OP-1 when I got the Field. I’m goign to mess aroudn and get the OP-1 again just for these mods. I really wanted to keep it but felt weird jst having both cause the ne wone did more than the old one. Now….
