Beyerdynamic Debuts Vocal Mics

Opus 81 Vocal MicNAMM 2005: Beyerdynamic has introduced the new Opus Series Vocal Microphones. The series, which includes the Opus 29S, Opus 39, Opus 59, Opus 69 and Opus 81, focuses on performance situations from gigging vocalists in clubs to critical, high end sound reinforcement in large concert venues.

Opus 29S: The Opus 29S is a dynamic vocal microphone recommended for hand-held or stand-mounted use by gigging vocalists. It features extremely high gain-before-feedback characteristics, and its ability to withstand high sound pressure levels make it suitable for close miking of musical instruments or speaker cabinets. The 29S is a dynamic-type microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern with a frequency response of 50-16,000 Hz in close miking situations and 100-14,000 Hz (measured at 1 m) for distance miking. The mic offers an integral on/off switch and comes is delivered with a mic clamp, and 5-meter XLR-cable in a zippered pouch.

Opus 39: The Opus 39 is a dynamic vocal microphone recommended for hand-held or stand-mounted use by gigging vocalists offering more performance specs than the Opus 29S. It features extremely high gain-before-feedback characteristics, and its ability to withstand high sound pressure levels makes it suitable for close miking of musical instruments or speaker cabinets. The 39 is a dynamic-type microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern with a frequency response of 50-16,000 Hz in close miking situations and 100-14,000 Hz (measured at 1 m) for distance miking. The mic is offered with (39S) or without an integral on/off switch and is delivered with a mic clamp and zippered pouch.

Opus 59: The Opus 59 is a dynamic vocal microphone recommended for hand-held or stand-mounted use by gigging vocalists. It delivers an extended, smooth frequency response, extremely high gain-before-feedback characteristics and the ability to withstand high sound pressure levels, making it suitable for close miking of musical instruments or speaker cabinets. The 59 is a dynamic-type microphone with a supercardioid polar pattern with a frequency response of 45-16,000 Hz in close miking situations and 100-14,000 Hz (measured at 1 m) for distance miking. The 59 is targeted to a more discerning artist desiring enhanced performance capabilities at an easily affordable price point.

Opus 69: The Opus 69 is designed to bring the dynamic, supercardiod microphone to the next level. As with all the dynamic mics in the Opus Series, the 69 is a dynamic vocal microphone recommended for hand-held or stand-mounted use by gigging vocalists. It features extremely high gain-before-feedback characteristics, and its ability to withstand high sound pressure levels make it equally suitable for close miking of musical instruments or speaker cabinets. The 69 exhibits an impressive frequency response of 35-16,000 Hz in close miking situations and 95-14,000 Hz (measured at 1 m) for distance miking. As the flagship model of the dynamic microphones in the Opus Series, the 69 delivers all the capability necessary for vocalists from clubs to concert halls.

Opus 81: The Opus 81 Condenser Microphone has been specifically designed to satisfy the critical demands of sound reinforcement and vocal applications.
