Adding MIDI To A 125 Year-Old Pipe Organ

The WaldFlöte project is a MIDI retrofit of an 1890’s-era 16 foot pipe organ. The video demos the WaldFlöte doing a little Dueling Banjos action.

It converts MIDI input into solenoid drive to directly press the keys on one of the manuals – there is no permanent modification to the organ.

Members of Dorkbot Edinburgh spent the last 7 months working on the project.
