iHaveSynth.com met up with David Mollerstedt at Teenage Engineering in Stockholm, Sweden for an interview about their new synth OP-1:
The OP-1 is not yet released but the world is waiting and the hype is massive, Teenage Engineering are making something unique and different with the OP-1. A really exciting little noise making synthesizer that will be released soon.
Below, check out a demo of the Teenage Engineering OP-1 Synthesizer in its current state.

Very interesting!
The OP-1 looks very cool – but I wish they were thinking mass-market with it. I can't see spending $700-800 on this when you can get a new laptop for that that can do a lot more. Also – for that money I'd want to have a real keyboard – something less toylike.
So which is going to come out first the OP-1, or the Beat Thang?
Yeah, can't wait for this. It sure is taking them a long time :/
The question that was on my mind since I first heard about the OP-1: Does it have a real-time clock and a calculator built in? 😉
Great point! 🙂 One of the more pressing questions of our time…
buy a casio keyboard and cheap latop for about 300 bux. Spend the rest on booz. my car didnt even cost 800. Get a life nerds
I don't know if I love them or hate them. I'm pulled in two directions.
Comb your hair!
I just got an Email from them suggesting the dollar price would be numerically the same as the euro price. Which is weird, because I wouldn't mind a high price if that's what it costs but I certainly wouldn't like to feel ripped off – and for a european product – just because I'm paying with euros… i.e. one third more at today's exchange rate!!
