Rob Papen and Propellerhead have released his Predator software synthesizer as a Reason Rack Extension, Predator-RE.
Here’s what they have to say about Predator-RE:
Predator-RE is a killer synthesizer that combines inspiring preset’s and first-class features to make this your ‘go-to’ synthesizer for contemporary music production. The user interface has been designed so that all controls are visible on screen, making it fun and incredibly easy-to-use.
Predator-RE is packed with powerful features such as oscillators which also can modulate each other, two filters which can be combined in a very wicked way and offer 27 different filter types included comb and vocal-filter, 3 top quality fx units with 25 fx types, Unison Detune, Chord Memory and an extremely versatile Arpeggiator.
Predator-RE also offers inputs into the filter, 3 fx units and vocoder, and access to Reason’s unique CV and GATE features are also available at the back panel.
And last but not least, Predator-RE’s arpeggiator has outputs, so can be used to control other Reason plug-ins.
Included are almost 4000 preset’s divided into several style banks. There is no contemporary music style that is not covered by the sound of Predator-RE!
Predator-RE is available now for $119.
Wicked!!! 😀
Reason is getting hot!
Predator was already a great soft synth; it sounds pretty damn good and it’s very easy to navigate. This looks like it will be awesome in Reason. I might have to upgrade from 5 and start actually using it again.
FYI: Maybe good to know that there is already an update coming out (1.01) which should address some issues like the extreme CPU load which some presets seem to cause.
The official Predator thread can be found on the Propellerhead forums here:

(note: you need to be a registered software user (Reason/Record/Recycle) to access this forum).
I wonder how many predators i could stack inside a combinator before my pc goes down… The modularity of Reason is what makes it so unique.
