frequencies (a)

Sunday Synth Jam: Nicolas Bernier’s frequencies (a) is a mad science sound performance that combines the sound of mechanically triggered tuning forks with pure digital soundwaves.

The performer is triggering sequences from the computer, activating solenoids that hits the tuning forks with high precision. Streams of light burst in synchronicity with the forks, creating a’ not-quite-minimal’ sound and light composition.

  1. It’s a cool idea, but why do these guys always have to use frequencies that just make people wanna smack them. Frequencies like these are why I won’t listen to microsound composers, they always have to go above 12Khz for their sounds.

  2. I’m going to set my computer to play this video at 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. I’ll never be late for work again!
