This video playlist features a 9-part ‘masterclass’, featuring John ’00’ Fleming discussing remixing Jean Michel Jarre‘s classic Oxygene.
Fleming covers analyzing the source material, using EQ to get drums and bass to work together, using layers to create an arrangement, audio processing, mastering and more.
This was relevant 4 years ago when it was posted on youtube.
LOL.
Interesting to me – I hadn’t seen it yet. Anything Jarre related is OK by me!
Awful, why would you want to turn such an iconic piece of musìc into this generic nonsense.
@ Alex—-you should listen and learn from a pro who knows his stuff very well… it isn’t about the music being 4 years old or 1 week old..its about technique used from a proffessional music creator, with years of experience and great knowledge…as a pro myself I have huge respect for this guy, even though he’s style of music isn’t my cup of tea . So keep your ears open and learn , because the learning curve never ends.
I don’t know what’s worse; mangling up Oxygene, or pronouncing it “Oxygen”
Respectfully suggest that remixing this is a bit like painting a moustache on the Mona Lisa! Anyway – the point to my post. You didn’t actually explain anything. Nothing at all. I feel duped. You’re just using this as promotion. Synthopia – you’ve got to do better than this.!
