Femmepop – ‘Underground’

Music video for Femmepop’s Underground.

Underground was performed and produced by Femmepop (Margaret O’ Sullivan).

Lyrics

Verse 1
Electric Light under a London sky.
I sit and wait by the window.
My taxi will take me deep into the night,
deep into the shadows.

Chorus
It’s taking my me over,
that sound from the Underground.
I can’t escape this feeling,
I can’t escape that sound.

Verse 2
Neon Lights, painted faces all a glow,
As I walk by, hidden in my fur.
People pour onto the street,
tonight the city takes control.

Chorus
It’s taking my me over,
that sound from the Underground.
I can’t escape this feeling,
I can’t escape that sound. x 2

It’s the energy on your streets,
In the diversity that you seek x 2

  1. Some really nice vintage synth textures in there, and Margaret seems to have one of those “I-make-men-melt” kind of voices.

While this song is nice I’m not sure what qualifies it for Synthtopia though – the video does little to satisfy or stimulate my lust for gear.

      1. Tazi, the Synth wave / Outrun scene is especially male dominated!! When do you ever see female Artists ever featured on their websites? Very very rarely. I think you are only fooling yourself when you say that the scene you mention is not male dominated!!

  2. Interesting….she sounds like what Madonna would sound if Madonna could actually carry a note. They have the same tonality with Margaret being a much better singer.

  3. seems like a hybrid of the 80’s and 90’s ,no bad thing …mind you i use fl and watch Encounter tutorials so that goes against me ..i like it though
