This video, via David Cranmer (thenervoussquirrel), is a quick demo of a sort of robotic drumline, controlled by a large-format modular synthesizer.

This was a nice commission from Michael Donnelly in Australia. The solenoids are completely isolated from the synth system – it takes low current triggers and then uses a separate power supply to activate the mallets.

Pretty cool. The Bastl guys do some killer shit with their modules and some of these
