UVI has updated its BeatHawk iOS Music Production Studio to version 2.0, adding support for Ableton Link, piano-roll style editing, Export to Live, MIDI Learn and more.

BeatHawk was already great. The newest version is jawdroppingly amazing. An absolute must and a steal cost-of-entry wise.

Another app for making unimaginative “music” with gimmicky sounds and beats. Bland bland bland. This generation of kids think it’s music. It’s not. The demo was awful. Sorry but far better music was made with a Fairlight back in the 80’s.

I just bought it on a whim for 7$, sampled some random vocal into it and made a little song linked with ableton that sounded quite “Farlight-y” by sampling with the iPhone mic so there’s that 😉 No need to use the built in presets…
