Sunday Synth Jam: Here’s a rare synth-free Tangerine Dream cover – an acoustic version of Love On A Real Train, from the Risky Business soundtrack.
The acoustic arrangement highlights the influence of American minimalist music on TD, especially the music of Terry Riley and Steve Reich.
The performance is by students of Eskilstuna Musikskola (Sweden):
Flute – Emma Nordgren
Clarinet – Albin Björklund
Alto Saxophone – Truls Lundin
Trumpet – Simeon Maskuniitty
Percussion – Albert Lännerström
Choir – Tonhöjdarna
Guitar 1 – Hanna Maurin Nordling
Guitar 2 – Sandra Jonsson
Cello – Alva Bengtsson
Double Bass – August Wiking

‘Love on a real train’ is a complete rip off of Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians. There is nothing ‘original’ about it.
Period.
Been saying this for years.
Nobody listens. I know it. You know it.
Nobody cares.
Haha! I know…. I’ll go and put this paper bag over my head…
Specifically starting 33min33secs.
Thereafter 34mins47secs kicks in.
@tom. That’s nice. No one cares.
How about just enjoying the music made by the next generation.
Why must the Swedes be good at everything…
They’re not.
An Alan Partridge favourite in fact!

the Reich comment wasn’t news in 1989 when Reich said it 😉
Nice performance!
