Sacred Bones Records has announced a new Anthology of the music of composer & director John Carpenter.

Anthology: Movie Themes 1974-1998 features new recordings of 13 themes from Carpenter’s career. Each theme has been recorded with the same collaborators that Carpenter worked with on his recent Lost Themes albums: his son, Cody Carpenter, and godson, Daniel Davies.

  1. If you’ve got the originals, there’s no need for re-recordings. Total cash grab. He must not be making money on the vinyl and CD reissues.

    1. Actually, he has a new studio his wife bough him a few years ago. I know, I was the guy who consulted and set it up for him. he’s wanting to do what most creative do: a “better” version of a recording. And knowing him, he figured someone would want to get a copy. Simple as that.

  2. So what? Do you grudge him trying to make some easy cash? You don’t really have to buy it. The guy is a genius and he can do whatever he likes. He da man!
