Paul Betowski has introduced S-Modular, a new semi-modular software synth for iPad.
Betowski says that S-Modular is designed to be ‘reminiscent of synthesizers from the 70s, warm and rich in character’.

This is what I call a drone type app, which there is no control in. But a great way to make some customize sound or fun and sounds pretty good.

We should consider retiring the term “semi-modular” for synths with no changeable or replaceable modules. This softsynth looks modular but it is not. “Patchable” may be a better term, or just say “monophonic drone synth with 20 patch points.” (20 is just an example.) Yes, no, maybe?
