Making Music From The Sounds Of A Barber Shop With An Elektron Digitakt

Sunday Synth Jam: Reader Dave Mech shared this video exploration of creative sampling with field recorded sounds.

Mech needed to get a haircut, so he took his trip to the barber as an opportunity to get new samples to work with. Then he shows how he processes the sound with his Elektron Digitakt to make percussion sounds and a complete track.

Here’s what he has to say about it:

Made another video on creative sampling. This time I went to the barber shop to get a haircut and created a beat with those sounds. In this video I go into more depth how I edit and layer the sounds to create a track.
