Elektron Digitone Keys Hands-On Demo With Cenk

At Superbooth 2019, Elektron’s Cenk Sayinli (Dataline) gave us an overview and demo of their new Digitone Keys synthesizer.

The Digitone Keys is a new eight-voice polyphonic digital synthesizer keyboard, based on the same synth engine as the original Digitone. It adds a keyboard, enhanced connectivity and more immediate control.

      1. I’m so confused by the hate for Digitone keys. I get not being into the price, but as for the design and functionality – people have fetishised the Monomachine SFX6 keyboard for years, and the Digitone Keys has the same layout, but with better functionality.

        Also, people thought Analog Keys was dumb when it was released as well.

          Why should keyboards take up all your table? This is designed to control 6 pieces of gear, so you’re going to need some table space and a synth can’t be too deep if you want to be able to reach your other gear.

  1. Why are people confused about the layout? Are they planning to play this like a DX7 in a Whitney Houston cover band? If that’s what you want, get a DX7!

    Looks like this brings back the best features of the Analog Keys, the multiple outputs and the routable audio inputs, so this could make a good sequencer for your whole rig.
