New ‘One’ Oscillator For Korg Minilogue XD

Developer Tim Shoebridge has introduced One – a new oscillator for the Korg Minilogue XD that’s inspired by the oscillators of the Moog One synthesizer.

Here’s what he has to say about it:

ONE for Minilogue XD is a User Oscillator for uploading to a Korg Minilogue XD synthesiser. At its heart is an algorithm which morphs its waveform from saw to triangle to ramp, in a very similar manner to that of the Moog One synthesiser.

ONE for Minilogue XD generates sound from three detunable digital oscillators and has an in-built saturation circuit and LFO.

The One oscillator is available now.

  1. This synth may end up being pretty historic… Having it be a milestone in how electronic instruments are considered… Really, if you have open, replaceable synth components in DSP, then the “synth” is just an interface… Thus I’ve been REALLY surprised someone has not come out with better, more configurable midi controllers to leverage the iPad ecosystem and that iOS music making has not only not adopted relative midi mapping to make encoders more useful…

Because if modern iPads can do what they are doing with folks like Eventide finally jumping in, it seems obvious where things should be going…

    1. iPad already leaves any other portable in the dust. I have a 128gb iPad Pro that keeps running out of space with all the apps that are available. But, I am not happy with a touch sensitive flat plate as a control surface. Nor would I trust it to play out with yet – although all it’s getting more reliable.

      1. I decided to not touch my computer DAW and synths for a year, and instead have worked with my 2 ipad Pro’s with Auria, Cubasis, all the typical good synths and FX, and about half a dozen hsrdware synths using an RME Babyface Pro. Yesterday I got out the cleaning wipes and brushes and cleaned off all the dust in the DAW studio which also houses about a dozen hardware synths, and I sat down in front of the 30″ monitor, mouse, and keyboard, fired up the computer and Reaper, selected my Jupiter 80 as master midi controller and proceeded to lsy down a track .. and Oh My! Ten times easier workflow than the iPads! Now today its hard to go back to the iPad studio. At home the computer is still king here.
