Soma Laboratory Intros Quantum Ocean Electro-Shamanistic Instrument

Russian instrument maker SOMA Laboratory has introduced the Quantum Ocean, an experimental electro-shamanistic instrument.

Developer Vlad Kreimer describes Quantum Ocean as ‘a combination of an analog device and special psychic exercises which can help you to achieve new possibilities of perception and action as well as rich new useful states of mind’.

The device itself is an analog generator of binaural noise, designed in a way to be the base for described ‘psycho technics’. The device is intended to be a kind of modern ritual object.

The Quantum Ocean comes with a QO booklet (pdf) that discusses the design philosophy of the device and suggestions for its use.

Pricing and Availability

The Quantum Ocean is available for 150 Euros.

  1. Bless you for not making this a VST! We need more cool and out there stuff like this in the hardware world. I will definitely be buying this.

  2. Fascinating and daring. I think it is generous of mr Kreimer to have shared his thoughts on this matter. Reading the pdf, it feels a bit like a collision between science and esoterism.

It’s inspiring me to go and try to go really slowly next time i create sounds on my synths. To try to get into each subtle change instead of going quickly to a specific type of sound i have in mind.

  3. This sounds really interesting, but unfortunately the “demo” video doesn’t demonstrate any of the unit’s capabilities, sounds or functions (the sound in the video is from Artemyev’s Solaris soundtrack). Hopefully a more illuminating demonstration is posted soon.

  4. Diving into the manual. First, it’s a noise generator. When you turn it on, you have to wait 40 seconds for it to be ready for use, which is odd. Now, it has two pads, which together presumably measure resistance, and which modulate the sound somehow. The idea is you touch them, or you connect objects to it. There are two more pads, and I don’t know how they work, but I think they’re similar to the other pair. Then there’s a list of exercises, containing gems like this “See colors, darkness and light, textures, patterns and structures.”

Someone buy one of these and take it apart LOL this is bonkers.

    1. I will not take it apart, but will definitely come back here to report. I have some experience with float tanks and kundalini yoga.. Both ways to achieve a k-hole/DMT experience without drugs. I suspect the QO device can assist a meditation in the same way, not sure yet as I am waiting for mine to arrive.

  5. “The pictures in the mind contain energy and mass. The energy and force in pictures of painful or upsetting experiences can have a harmful effect upon an individual. This harmful energy or force is called charge.

When the E-Meter is operating and a person holds the meter’s electrodes, a very tiny flow of electrical energy (about 1.5 volts—less than a flashlight battery) passes down the wires of the E-Meter leads, through the person’s body and back into the E-Meter. (The electrical flow is so small, there is no physical sensation when holding the electrodes.)

When the person thinks a thought, looks at a picture in their mind, re-experiences an incident or shifts some part of the reactive mind, they are moving and changing actual mental mass and energy. These changes in the mind influence the tiny flow of electrical energy generated by the E-Meter, causing the needle on its dial to move. The needle reactions on the E-Meter tell the auditor where the charge lies, and that it should be addressed through auditing.”

  6. The Hutchison Effect alone is worth twice the price . . . until the federal agents come in, ransack your studio , haul all your stuff out in boxes and leave you with a court order to cease, desist and keep your mouth shut.

This is a perfect companion for the QO the Ether https://somasynths.com/ether/

    i have the SOMA PIPE.
