Sinevibes has introduced Albedo, the first reverb plugin for Korg’s Multi-Engine synthesizers.
Albedo is a granular cloud reverb plugin for KORG prologue, minilogue xd and NTS-1. It continuously records audio into a buffer, and at the same time plays up to 16 separate grains from it – with each grain having its own randomized size and position within the buffer.
Together with feedback and additional psychoacoustic stereo widening, this creates a “cloud of sound” reverb effect. It is also possible to stop overwriting the buffer and thus “freeze” this cloud, allowing to overlay another sound as the granular cloud keeps playing indefinitely.
Here’s an example of Albedo in action:
Pricing and Availability
Albedo is available now for $19 USD.
Sounds great! Still a little annoyed that I have the original and not the Xd, this ish is soo cool!
I love this plugin in along with Sinvibes Drift effect on Runner Brass (preset 1) with long attacks is wow! Add Blackhole for taste!
Sinvibes has very polished product. Well implemented, with a professional presentation and superb sound.
Nice. But i don’t have a korg… :s
I greatly appreciate any new way of exploiting a synth’s internal reverb effects, since it can get muddy all too easily. Granular is a smart option I didn’t expect here. The ‘logue line is becoming more of a digital-modular approach, with bizarre plugs taking the place of cords. Running an XD & a small modular together seems like a natural two-fer kind of pairing. I’m still partial to the classy 4-part string patches, though.
At that rate, I would just get a NTS-1 eurorack-ed. Which… I think I will!
FWIW, this synth has lead me to pre-order Behringer Moog modules, and Mutable Instruments modules.
