Prairie Wires Modular 2021 Coming Sept 12 To Brandon, Manitoba

Prairie Wires has announced plans for Prairie Wires Modular 2021, a free electronic music festival, scheduled for Sunday, September 12 in Brandon, Manitoba Canada.

The open-air electronic music and sound art festival will run from 12 noon to 10:30 p.m. at the Festival Park Amphitheatre located at Riverbank Discovery Centre (545 Conservation Dr, Brandon Manitoba).

“We are extremely happy to be able to bring live electronic music back to Brandon!” said Prairie Wires director Brendon Ehinger. “The inaugural Prairie Wires Modular festival in 2019 was small, but it was a huge success. Ongoing challenges of the pandemic forced us to postpone presenting this festival in 2020, so it is so exciting it can finally happen!”

PWM2021 festivities will include:

  • An outdoor afternoon modular synth meetup;
  • A family-friendly public open house, featuring displays, demos and discussions;
  • A special Manitoba Modular on the Spot; and
  • An evening multimedia concert, featuring performers from all three Prairie provinces.

Synthesists and artists scheduled to perform include Matthew Cardinal (Edmonton, AB), Stephanie Kuse (Saskatoon SK), Ernie Dulanowski (Regina SK), forestine (Winnipeg, MB), as well as Brandon’s own Shotgun Jimmy with Leanne Zacharias, who will be collaborating with Tlicho Dene interdisciplinary artist Casey Koyczan from Yellowknife, NT.

Other performers will include Bondegi, Harrumph!, Grant Partridge, Dan Fur Music, Robert Alexander and Like Minds.

All the events are free of charge, open to the public, family friendly and outdoors. See the event site for details.
