Free Taiko Drums Virtual Instrument

SampleScience has released Taiko Drums, a free virtual instrument for Mac & Windows, featuring the sound of taiko drums.

They say that a synthesizer has been used to create this traditional Japanese instrument in virtual form, and that the resulting sound is “epic and cinematic”.

      Very cool idea. You could trigger from any surface. Use velocity values if you wanted to trigger different drum sounds. I remember Akira Jimbo was using velocity to trigger different drum sounds years ago, I would think techno has evolved quite a bit since then. I wish Roland still made the TM-6 interfaces.
