In his latest video, synthesist Benn Jordan takes a look at Tesla Trax – a GarageBand-like DAW built into the Tesla Model 3.
Putting a DAW into the dashboard of a car raises all sorts of questions. Tesla’s Trax DAW is ostensibly designed to be a fun diversion. But can it be used as more than that?
As Jordan shares in his review, his answer would be “No.” He describes the software as ‘awful’ and adds, “I thought I could create something decent. I thought wrong.”
What do you think about Trax, or the idea of having a DAW built into your car? Share your thoughts in the comments!
If I’m thinking of where I most want a DAW, yea, I’m flying down a highway and a car is driving itself. That’ sounds about right.
Seriously though, where’s the DAW for the potty? That’s where I want it. So many ideas down the toilet.
it’s for composing your swan song when you engage self-crashing mode. seriously, after the twitter fiasco, why would anyone *not* expect more crap from that guys companies.
It’s not usuable unless the car is in park.
way to limit my freedom of expression!
My like for driving an internal combustion engine is much less than my dislike for this guy!
I was going to point out how close we are to April Fool’s Day, but Elon is such a knob, that can be any day of the year. If he wants to impress, let him find something better than the insanity of lithium batteries. Of course, if he came up with a magic Iron Man battery, the human lizards would line up to turn it into a bomb.
Which brings us back to the internal combustion engine. Much, much, much less actual pollution!
lol, so true! I’m hanging onto my ICE until I can drop a 500ftlb e-crate in cheaply. until then, I won’t drive much at all….
Screw that Tesla I’m taking this one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Ejhxsr7Zi8
how is this like garageband?
garageband loads plugins, so it can make any sound you want.
