Sound designer Ian Dixon shared this video demo of his new Genesis Sound Collection for the Korg modWave.
Here’s what he has to say about it:
“From “Watcher of the Sky” to “Invisible Touch,” we’ve captured the essence of these classic tracks.
This collection features 36 performances inspired by legendary instruments like the Mellotron, ARP Pro Soloist, Quadra, Korg Wavestation, and DX7.
Whether you’re a Genesis fan or a synth enthusiast, there’s something here for everyone.”
The sound library is compatible with Modwave, Modwave Native, Modwave mkII, & Modwave Rack.

Nice work. But the Korg company is disapointing because their buildquality and pricetagging.
Yes Behringer is much better
I know, right? $999.99 for the KingKorg Neo?
I recently purchased a Modwave MK1 used. I was pleasantly surprised by the build after reading so much about it being iffy. It compares well with my bass station 2 which I paid roughly the same for. I hope it proves to be as reliable. If I was paying full price for a new one I might not have been as happy though and I’ve avoided their MS20 mini because I didn’t like the keybed or wobbly knobs. I never tried a full size MS20 reissue but have been tempted and still am but would like to try one in person. Unfortunately this is difficult because of where I live.
How about doing a collection of Keith Emerson/ELP sounds next?
Build, shmuild, either use the native version or play the hardware from a better controller. I don’t disagree about the iffy quality of some things, but you either cope or go home. I’ve been in both situations, so I get your pain. You just have to make a few command decisions.
As big fan of a Genesis & all of their offshoots, I appreciate the smart work. The sounds are all proper. The Mellotrons are spot-on. Good on you, Ian!
