Waldorf Teases Blofeld Software

Waldorf shared this teaser video for some new Blofeld software – likely either a plugin version or a patch editor.

Details are to still to be announced, but, based on the video, it looks like a Waldorf Blofeld virtual instrument may be in the works.

The Waldorf Blofeld, above, is part of the company’s ‘Bond’ series of synths, named after villains from the world of James Bond. The series includes the Blofeld, Stromberg & Largo.

We’ll share the official details on the Blofeld software when they are announced. In the meantime, check out the video and share your thoughts in the comments!

  1. If its a full plug-in, many fans of the Blofeld will leap on it. I’m dubious, only because its been around for a long while now and every other new synth is a wavetable creature or has a WT section. If you just like having big libraries, I’ll bet this one will be huge, with so many miles on the design. Like Nexus, you have so many options, you could live in that world permanently.

  2. Largo is basically a Blofeld in VST. The latest version brought nothing new. Still horrible patch management (as all Waldorf plugs have.)

An editor is a great idea – there are others available, but some are a bit flaky. I ended up selling my Blofeld …

  3. If they make it cross-compatible with the HW unit presets format, AAAND they have fixed the LFO sync issue, that’s a win! No need to rebuy a new Blo’ and all my custom presets will have a new life again.
