UVI has introduced PX WaveFrame, a new virtual instrument based on the the WaveFrame AudioFrame, a high-end digital sampler and audio production system from the late 1980s.
Developed in Boulder, Colorado, the WaveFrame AudioFrame was a competitor to the Synclavier and Fairlight, featuring advanced capabilities like non-aliased transposition, phase-coherent polyphony, and 24-bit processing.
Even with a focus on post-production, the AudioFrame was embraced by artists like Peter Gabriel, Stevie Wonder, and others who used it both for studio and stage work.
Here’s the official video intro:

BREAKING: another cool piece of vintage hardware is now a cheap little boring proggie…. knockoff.
I love these old programs, an iOS version would be sweet. But what intrigues me the most about this article is that Stevie Wonder used this software. So many questions…
Seems well suited for synthwave enthusiasts.
Sounds good but ilok and must be online for license is a no from me.
That’s a deal killer for me too. I’m not always able to be online when I am out and about with my laptop.
