Or just use eno’s “oblique strategy” which has been around for almost 50 years now
Brian Eno used a similar technique to this decades ago when he co-developed the Oblique Strategies card set.
It seems to be quite “primal” idea. I came to similar one by myself just at the beginning of my journey with synths. And then I met someone, who also had this idea on its own and even shared with me his cards ideas… And to make things even funnier – many ideas overlapped :]
I am happy that someone at least did graphics for this idea and I might be interested in obtaining this set. Been almost eight years since my idea and I not only lost my cards, but also laminator that I had back then.
Not for me (being purely a hobbyist), but it’s great to see something else besides the “buy more gear” solutio- eh, trap oh so many seem to fall for.
I bought a set of the original Oblique Strategies cards. I’ve also followed the additions to it over time, the whole process with Eno’s approval. They really do tweak your perspectives in useful ways.
Flipspark feels like the purely mechanical side of OB’s abstractions. It’s well-considered, so anything that helps you get out of your own way is a winner.
