      1. Hmm i would understand your idea if we were talking about some synth full menu diving like a Dave smith Mopho or similar.
However the 2s is basically a synth with 1 function per knob that is very easy and fast to use.
Why would i want to explore patches on the computer when its much easier to tweak the synth itself. Or do you mean explore the presets that come with the software?
        Genuine question here

  1. Excellent upgrade. $99 bucks is no brainer purchase for me.
Btw; Arturia managed to release JP8000 that Roland Cloud couldn’t regardless of thousands of requests over past 2 years…
Needless to say that I have collected my 10 loyalty instruments and discontinued my subscription from Roland promptly.
Ps; The only disappointment for me is that V.11 still doesn’t include drum machine, oh well, maybe V.12 will…

  2. I don’t know what it is but the last round of the synths from Arturia (Jp8000V, Synthx V, Minibrute, Acid V, MS20V) all sound very plasticky to me compared with say D16 Phosycon, and even some Kontakt synth libraries. I find myself struggling to get sounds out of them that don’t sound like they are from a cheesy demonstration video, and these are all synths that I really enjoy in hardware form. I feel like the older generation of X collections sounded better…the. Buchla, Juno, and Jupiter are 3 of my go tos.

With that said I REALLY enjoy the augmented series. They are phenomenal instruments that have me opening omnisphere less and less.

  3. I like the ‘trading card’ presentation of the new synths, and all the ‘old’ ones. 45 cards, all with the same Arturia ‘logo’ on the back. If GForce, Korg, UVI, and other companies would offer similar style cards, personal digital synthesizer, or plugin collections could be represented as card collections. New ways of representation of and interaction with (your) collection could be made possible, in the digital or (my preference) physical domain. What do you think of this idea?

  4. I sold my JP8000 a few years ago. The Jup 8000 sounds from what I can tell from that Demo, even better than the original, given all the FX and distortion and routing capabilities.
And the filter sounds also quite analogue, surprisingly. Clean UI and overall nice sound
The only thing I miss is that dusty old school lo-fi pads, but this might be archived with proper programming and sound design.
    Well done Arturia

  5. Its a well-muscled bundle for sure. I have more of a mix-&-match approach, but their JP-8000 is tempting. A lot of synths followed its lead as a super-saw creature. Its just plain fun to play.

  6. The new JP-8000 addition has quickly become one of my favorite synth plugins. The multi arpeggiator is so wicked. There is no other company on the market doing what Arturia is achieving IMO

  7. Still not really enough to justify even the upgrade price. I still have V9 and it’s more than enough. Also, two of those “new” instruments are actually just updated, both of which you can get if you don’t pay for the update pricing.
