CDM shared this audio demo of BattleFX, a free multi-effect plugin from Unfiltered Audio.
Here’s what the developer has to say about it:
“BattleFX was created to satisfy the common request of a dedicated plugin for the send effects in Battalion. The famous “Shatter Delay” and “Headspace Reverb” can now be used on any track. We have included a fully-featured set of mix controls, as well as Solo and Mute, so that you can hear or use each portion individually. Included is the Maximize and EQ section from the Master portion of Battalion, which have quickly become a signature sound of the device, and something fans have requested to use elsewhere.
Versatile enough to be used as both a utility-tool and full creative effect, it is the right squad-partner to keep always at your side in the field and trenches.
In addition, we have added a system for automatically choking the delay and reverb buffers at repeating intervals, including a Euclidean pattern knob. These can be tempo synced or free, controlled independently on reverb and delay, and even nudged slightly off of the beat in either direction. You can use this to create complex, organic ducking patterns, especially in conjunction with a noisy input and the Maximize knob turned up.”
Availability:
BattleFX is available now for Mac & Windows as a free download.
This is the second “free” plugin from this company in recent memory that can’t be successfully downloaded. It sends a “license code” to your email as it’s supposed to, then provides a “Download Now From the License Portal ” link. The download page demands a “code” – NOT the license code but another one that was apparently never sent and never arrives. Trying to enter any number into the field doesn’t work anyway. The first number of the license code (assuming that’s the expected number) can be entered into the first box, but subsequent boxes accept no keyboard or clipboard input. It’s frustrating and creates a very bad impression of Unfiltered Audio.
Check spam folder and/or try a different browser. It works for other people, so it HAS to be something specific to your configuration.
Good luck
Also in beta for iOS. Cool app!
I tried it and I don’t understand the mix knob. It acts like a volume versus dry/wet mix, and is always 100% wet? Mix knob at 0 = no output
the in and out parameters play a significant role in how each part of the effect works, independently of the mix know. might be an RTFM moment here – or hover over the knobs and sliders for helpful explanations. Unfiltered do a fantastic job of having that hover info function across their plugins.
