Elektron has released a free firmware update for the Analog Four & Analog Keys synthesizers, adding a wide range of new features.
OS 1.55 adds a Euclidean Sequencer Mode, Control All, Loop Pages, Rotate Arp Sequence, Save Trig to Sound and more.
Here’s what’s new in the Analog Four & Analog Keys OS 1.55:
Euclidean Sequencer – This new sequencer mode can bring a new sense of motion to your patterns, courtesy of two Euclidean generators that algorithmically distribute trig-like pulses across a sequence.
Page Loop – This lets you instantly jump to the sequencer page you want to work in, as well as looping it with ease alongside any other specific pages you want to focus on. Hang in one place and replay, or tweak until the sound is just right, until you’re ready to de-loop.
Control All – Access full, simultaneous control over parameters across all tracks by holding track and twisting away on your parameter of choice.
Rotate Arpeggiator Sequence – Analog Four’s arpeggiator can now move in fresh ways. Rotate your offsets to ensure your arp sequence isn’t set in stone, and find new melodic pathways.
And more – Other updates include Save Trig to Sound, as well as a number of improvements and fixes. Read the full release notes for a complete overview.

Incredible update however I’ve already b*tched on mulitple social accounts about their lack of transparency on how to actually utilize the new tools. A few content clout videos about “LOOK WHAT THIS THING CAN DO” but no manual update or anything about helping users actually use it. I had to navigate on my MK1 for a few hours before I found the Euclidean sequencer options and I still have no clue what any of the parameters mean or what it’s doing. Sly tech like Elektron always had this “gatekeeping” community vibe to it but this is ridiculous.
The manual has updated, it begins on pg 44.
I don’t think they’re trying to hide anything, but I do wish that they’d invest in basic tutorial videos instead of the more highly produced ‘vibe’ ones that they shared.
I’m waiting for EZBot to drop his video. He’s my go to source now.
Elektron really has been good its customer base. My OG analog four has been given new life several times with the updates. I wish more synth companies would update a nearly 15-year-old product.
Indeed! They also have been helpful whenever i contacted them. Had very few issues with my Elektrons but they helped me out when i needed.
I love my Analog Four!
If only they could bring all this sweetness to even older – but still very popular – gear like the Octatrack, it would be a godsend!
Wow. What a treat/surprise. Big thanks, Elektron.
