Tasty Chips Updates GR-MEGA With New Granular Controls, Effects, and Workflow ImprovementsGR-MEGA

Firmware 1.7.0 is a major update for the GR-MEGA granular synthesizer, introducing extensive changes across the synthesis engine, user interface, preset management, and effects processing.

The update redesigns the granular engine with new controls and visualization, replaces portions of the menu system, expands the preset and template workflow, adds new effects and randomization tools, and revises the file system to simplify saving and recalling projects.

According to Tasty Chips, the update represents the largest firmware release for the instrument to date while maintaining compatibility with existing workflows.

Firmware updates can be installed over a LAN connection or from a USB storage device.

  1. I may be guilty of over-romanticizing, but there used to be a time when “workflow” wasn’t used in hardware reviews, and it seems we were better off for it.
