Tunary Instruments has introduced SILT, a new “Generative Tape-Loop Instrument”.
It features four short melodic loops of different lengths, that drift slowly out of phase through an emulated tape machine.
They say this creates “soft music-box tones, smeared by wow, dust and age, layered over field recordings of birds, stream and vinyl.”
Here’s an example of SILT in action:
Pricing and Availability:
SILT is available now with an intro price of $29 USD (normally $39).
Can one import own samples?
@orphan : I’ve just tried the demo and couldn’t work out how to import samples. Apparently it’s hard-coded into the plugin, which is a real shame because the plugin is an interesting concept.
Portatron 2 (in Beta atm) can import samples.
Lack of sample input is a huge miss.
I believe that is a limitation of the demo.
Hard to say… no online manual and nothing in the interface to add samples.
I love the concept but can’t buy without this feature.
Me see a lot of ideas that have existed on Norns becoming products.
I really hate seeing AI images all over everything these days. This whole app seems like it could have been generated by AI. What are we even doing anymore?
