The Roland Aira modules are some of the most powerful and customizable effects modules available in Euro format.
The modules are great on their own, but can also be completely customized with software patches that can be downloaded as firmware to the module.
Now, an experimental firmware switcher promises to let you use any Aira firmware on any of the modules.
tracelistener says “With the help of AI, I was able to figure out how to download a backup from my
Roland Scooper,” adding “Scooper, Demora, Torcido, and Bitrazer only differ by 1 byte and can be swapped with this tool.”
We have not been able to test this, so if any readers have a chance to check this out, leave a comment and let us know what you find out!

That’s wild that they only differ by 1 byte – seems almost too simple once you know about it. Definitely curious if anyone gets this working on their actual gear.
I don’t get the point. So I can have a scooper on my Torcido? What a about the button that the scooper have in the middle to record the audio? It is the only model that have the button.

works for me, turned scooper into bitrazer. not sure how you would turn the others into a scooper unless you could assign some cv input to the rec/play instead of having the physical button, couldnt say.
