my #1 wish for this box is that people crack the firmware so that it can function as a breakout box for any USB class compliant device that only supports multi channel output over USB
so many boxes these days are just stereo out, and the multi channel stuff is reserved strictly for the DAW crowd
If you mean connecting to another instrument via USB that passing audio to the computer with CC drivers, it already does that.
Good thing is it already does exactly that, out of the box 🙂 The linked video is even demonstrating it around the 1:04:15 mark.
It is class compliant and works with some other gear. That’s already been tested. For another. What multi channel stuff is being reserved? There are only tiny few on the market
I was told in an email the following: “From what I know, this is the plan. There are not full specifics yet as we will need to work with the companies to get it to work.”
if the USB works well with enough stuff, this thing has potential to be as ubiquitous as a SM57
