Here’s a first look at the upcoming SinTH2 monster synth.
The SinTH2 is a new hardware synthesizer built around five sample oscillators, a noise oscillator, 60-voice polyphony, four LFO generators, and two envelopes.
Its synthesis architecture includes 18 dB low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass filters, while an integrated effects DSP provides additional sound processing.
The instrument features motion recording for its controls, four OLED displays, 120 potentiometers, nine encoders, and 36 buttons. A 16-step polyphonic sequencer is included, along with 1,920 preset cells, a Fatar dynamic keyboard, symmetrical XLR audio output, and a stereo audio input routed to the effects processor.
Pricing & Availability:
The manufacturer states that the SinTH2 is built to order, in the following form factors:
- The folding-panel version is listed at €6,999 including VAT.
- The fixed-panel version is listed at €6,799 including VAT.
- The desktop version is listed at €5,800 including VAT.
Hmm what does “sample oscillator” mean? ? is that fundamentally different than a rompler?
I’m guessing it’s just another way of saying you can load in your own single cycle waveforms
Thx ; isn’t that what roland gaia got lambasted for?
The website describes the “sample oscillators” as follows:
4 multiwaves oscyllators – each has 128 waves form
Based on the other videos on their YouTube channel, I think they’re wavetables that have different frames bound to amplitude, but I could be mistaken.
It is really cool, I wish I was in a position to buy it.
Man that’s going to be rough with transporting that synth.
Especially if you decide to save $270 on a $9.474 synth and get the fixed-panel version instead
I rather but a new car…
can i play doom on it yet?
Holy smokes.. it definitely has some stage presence! Waiting to hear more sounds.
I think there’s an unwritten law stating that only Jarre may tour with a synth like this. Otherwise, do the sensible thing and design a house around it.
