Moog Music Launches Model 112 and Model 210, Amps Designed for Electronic Instruments

Moog Music today announced Model 112 and Model 210, two full-range, flat-response (FRFR) instrument amplifiers purpose-built for synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, and modern electronic performance rigs.

Model 112 combines a portable 12-inch format with 440W RMS bi-amplified power for studios, rehearsals, personal monitoring, and live performance. Model 210 steps up to a 550W RMS, 2.5-way design with dual 10-inch woofer and deeper low frequency extension for larger stages and more demanding performance rigs.

Both models deliver an all-analog amplification path, 4 stereo inputs and an integrated four-channel stereo mixer, balanced PA connectivity, Bluetooth streaming, headphone monitoring, and Stereo Link for building a two-amplifier stereo system. Together, Model 112 and Model 210 extend Moog’s focus on electronic performance from the instrument itself to how it is monitored and heard on stage, in rehearsal, and in the studio.

Moog Model 112

“Every great electronic instrument has its own sonic identity,” said Joe Richardson, President at Moog Music. “Model 112 and Model 210 were designed to preserve that identity, not color it. From the unmistakable warmth of a Moog synthesizer to the transient snap of a drum machine, these amplifiers allow the true character of the instrument to come through. Musicians work hard to shape their sound. They deserve amplification that delivers it honestly, consistently, and exactly as intended.”

MODEL 112: Everyday versatility. Model 112 delivers full-range electronic-instrument amplification in a portable format designed to move between studio, rehearsal space, performance, and personal monitoring setups. A 440W RMS bi-amplified system drives a 12-inch woofer and 1-inch compression driver with a frequency response of 40Hz–20kHz. A top carry handle makes Model 112 the more portable choice for musicians who regularly move between creative and performance environments.

MODEL 210: Command the stage. Model 210 is the higher-output system in the range, designed for larger stages and demanding electronic performance rigs. A 550W RMS bi-amplified, 2.5-way design combines a 1-inch compression driver with dual 10-inch woofers, one woofer for full range, the second focusing on low frequencies extending down to 35Hz ensuring powerful response for synthesizer bass, electronic drums, sound design, and bass modeling systems. Full-grip side handles and removable casters support transport and stage position, while two Model 210 amplifiers can be connected using Stereo Link for performance setups.

Designed for electronic instruments. Traditional guitar and bass amplifiers are intentionally voiced to contribute to the sound of the instrument. Model 112 and Model 210 take a different approach, using full-range, flat-response amplification designed to reproduce the frequency range, dynamics, and character of synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, modeling processors, and other electronic sound sources. An all-analog amplification path provides immediate response without introducing signal-processing latency into the amplification path, keeping performers closely connected to the response of instruments.

Mix, monitor, and connect the complete rig. An integrated 4-channel analog stereo mixer lets musicians combine multiple keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, and playback sources through one system. Channel 1 also includes a microphone preamp for performance and rehearsal, while a 3-band Baxandall master EQ provides control over the complete mix. Balanced stereo XLR and TRS outputs send the full mix to front of house while the amplifier provides dedicated onstage monitoring. Headphone monitoring supports silent rehearsal, and Bluetooth 6.0 streaming provides wireless playback for reference tracks and play-along practice.

From one amplifier to stereo. Each model operates as a complete amplification system on its own. Stereo Link connects two compatible Moog amplifiers to create a stereo system for synthesizers, keyboards, drum machines, modeling processors, and effects that use stereo as an integral part of their sound.

KEY FEATURES:

  • ALL-ANALOG FRFR AMPLIFICATION: Full-range, flat-response Class D amplification designed to reproduce the character and frequency range of connected instruments.
  • DESIGNED FOR ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTS: Purpose-built for keyboards, synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic performance rigs, plus bass and guitar preamps and modelers requiring FRFR amplification.
  • INTEGRATED 4-CHANNEL STEREO MIXER: 4 stereo inputs allows connection of multiple instruments and playback sources through one system, with a microphone preamp on Channel 1.
  • 3-BAND BAXANDALL MASTER EQ: Shape the complete amplifier mix directly from the system.
  • PROFESSIONAL PA CONNECTIVITY: Balanced stereo XLR and TRS outputs route the complete mix to front of house while the amplifier remains available for personal monitoring.
  • BLUETOOTH STREAMING AND HEADPHONE MONITORING: Bluetooth® 6.0 audio streaming (A2DP, AVRCP) supports reference tracks and play-along practice, with headphone output for silent monitoring.
  • STEREO LINK: Connect two compatible Moog amplifiers for stereo amplification.
  • PREMIUM MOOG INDUSTRIAL DESIGN: Tolex-wrapped wood with protective metal corners, vintage grille cloth, top carry (112) and side handles plus removable casters (210).

  1. They seem a bit pricey until you consider the big load they can carry. The specs are righteous. If they’re half as tough as my Mini, people will probably be very happy with them. Its an interesting move for Moog to make. Better buy a dolly as well, ’cause they ain’t lightweights. I wonder how they’ll strike the market after six months or so.

  2. This is moving backwards instead of forward. Both in terms of modern amplification technology and the legacy of the legendary Moog name.
