The Moog Lap Steel Guitar

This is a video preview of the Moog Lap Steel Guitar, from the 2011 NAMM Show.

The Moog Lap Steel combines Moog Guitar technology with the expressive capabilities of the Lap Steel guitar.

All the innovations of The Moog Guitar; Full Sustain, Controlled Sustain and Mute modes, Harmonic Blends and the onboard Moog Ladder Filter are integrated to allow for new playing techniques.

Here’s a performance demo of the Moog Lap Steel Guitar:

This footage is from the Projek Moog live performance at Moogfest 2010. It features Billy Cardine on the Moog Lap Steel.

“The Moog Lap Steel is, no doubt, based on a very amazing technological innovation,” says Cardine. “Despite this, and as I know was the intention of the engineers, I believe this technology in this format has risen above being just a technical innovation. It truly expands the vocabulary possible from a steel guitar, both as a supportive instrument and as a lead voice.”

The Moog Lap Steel Guitar retails for $2,895.

  1. In spite of Cardine's obvious playing skill, I'm not hearing anything innovative. I'm seeing a plank guitar with a Fernandes sustainer and some onboard effects, and figuring that I could make one myself and get a little change out of three grand.

  2. Yeah all their products seem to me like overpriced guitars with sustainers built into them. well that and the piezo pickups. Which we all know isn't too difficult to retrofit into your present guitar, and won't cost you that arm you play with.

  3. i want to try behringer for first time.__i hop so that will be my need!i want to try behringer for first time.__i hop so that will be my need!
